How to Port forward in windows

Note: Before we begin you may right click on the images and open image in new tab to view them at a bigger resolution.

To port forward in window you need to:

1. click on the start menu.

 

2. search for windows firewall with advanced security

 

3. It should look something like this

 

4. figure out what port you need to port forward in the firewall for this demonstration we are going to use port 3001 and 3002

 

5. click on inbound rules

 

6. a pop up should open click on the second option.

 

7. use the first option to start it should look something like this.

 

Note: you are going to have to do the same thing for UDP as well to allow UDP connections.

 

8. click on next.

 

9. make sure it is set to allow connections. (it's selected by default)

 

10. click on next 2 times.

 

11. set a name for the port

 

12. you are all done.

Note: Make sure you do the same exact thing for Outbound Rules as well as redo the first step but select UDP instead of TCP. With outbound rules you need to make sure you select allow connections as it is set to deny connections by default.
